Tom Lapacka completed his undergraduate work at Ambassador University, near London, UK, followed later by a Masters in Reformation Theology from Concordia University, Irvine, CA; a Doctor of Ministry, Ft. Wayne Seminary; a Master of Education in Educational Leadership, Texas A&M, Canyon, TX. Additionally, he completed two immersion courses in German, one in Dϋsseldorf, Germany, and the other in Basel,
Switzerland. Over his lifetime, Tom has served as a European missionary and pastor in the United States. He has worked in both for-profit and non-profit organizations, including Kellogg's, Johnson Wax, and LCMS (St. Louis HQ). Before joining the staff at LHS, Tom taught and was an administrator for 12 years in the Texas public education system. He served as an adjunct theology professor on the Concordia Texas staff for five years. Over the years, Tom has traveled widely here and abroad, including spending a summer on an archeological project in Jerusalem under the auspices of Hebrew University. In addition to teaching German and Old/New Testament classes, he has played baseball and earned a Black Belt in Kenpo Karate from Master Larry Tatum in Pasadena, CA. Tom married his college sweetheart, Linda Dorsey, a native Texan from West Texas who retired from two decades as a realtor/broker. They have two sons and four grandchildren. |
