My name is Jessamine Santory and I am native Spanish speaker, originally from the beautiful island of Puerto Rico. I moved to Texas from Chicago, Illinois in 2003. I completed my Ph.D. graduate coursework in Spanish Literature at the University of Illinois-Chicago. I also did a graduate summer abroad at the University of Complutense in Madrid, Spain. I have been teaching all levels of Spanish for the last 18 years, from pre-school to college.
I have been married for 26 years to my husband Iván and I am the proud mother of two lovely daughters, Aryana and Roxana. My eldest daughter is pursing a Ph.D. in Physiology and Pharmacology at UT Health San Antonio, and my youngest a bachelor’s in Industrial Engineering at St. Mary’s University. I enjoy cooking, decorating, photography, watching sports and practicing yoga.
I am very excited to be part of the Lutheran High School family and LHS students’ journey in learning a new language! I know the future is very bright, especially if we can “JUST IMAGINE”.
