Lock-In

Lutheran High School invites any 6th-8th grader to our annual Jr. High Lock-in, Fri Jan 27th- Sat. Jan 28th.
Participants can arrive on the 27th at10:00 p.m and be picked up on the 28th at 7:00 a.m (if arriving late or leaving early please indicate on registration form).
WHAT TO EXPECT: Lots of activities like basketball, volleyball, board\ card and video games, Bible study, praise time and so much more! We will provide pizza, snacks and drinks.
WHAT TO BRING: Nothing but great and energetic attitudes. Please remember to preregister with the $5 fee. (See below)
WHO WILL BE HELPING: LHS teachers and staff as well as association church youth leaders and DCEs and some of LHS’s finest (our high school students)
HOW DO I SIGN UP? ALL ATTENDEES ARE ASKED TO PLEASE PREREGISTER. PLEASE USE THE REGISTRATION FORM AND MAIL THE FORM AND $5 TO LHS.

FAQ about the Lock-in
1. Who is chaperoning? Several LHS teachers/staff will be here as well as youth workers (DCE’s) from association congregations, and Concordia University Austin students.
2. Why do they not need pillows and sleeping bags? Honestly, they won’t sleep so these just get in the way or left behind. We keep them busy most the night
3. How much is the fee? We are charging $5 to help cover expenses (we will have pizza and other snack items and drinks)
4. What should they wear? Attire is up to them, but jeans and casual are appropriate. They may even want to have shorts, t-shirt and sneakers as they may be active and running around the gym playing basketball, kickball, or volleyball.
5. Will they need extra money? Not necessarily. Snacks and beverages will be provided at various times during the night, however there is a beverage machine should they want something when the “snack shop” is not open. Students will be responsible for their own money.
6. How do I register? All information is up on our website (lhssa.org). There is a waiver/ registration form they do need to fill out, but it can be brought on Friday night when they arrive as well as the fee. For ease of registration we ask that you please preregister.
7. What will they be doing? There will have several options during their “free/ structured” time. Activities range from basketball, volleyball, coloring, board games, scavenger hunt, movies, etc. We will also have Bible studies and large group games.
8. Who is invited? Any students’ 6th-8th grade. We have especially encouraged and invited students from Lutheran High’s association congregations (LCMS churches). Even so, friends of these students are also welcome to come.
9. When do they arrive/ leave? Students are to arrive by 10 p.m on Friday night (if they are delayed because of another activity please note it to us so we know to expect them later) Students are to be picked up at 7 a.m on Saturday. Please note when students arrive they will not be allowed to leave until they are picked up on Saturday (unless previous arrangements have been made)
10. Do they need/ can they have a cell phone? Yes, but they will be strongly encouraged NOT to use them. There will be times throughout the night where we will NOT allow them to be used. We really want them to enjoy and participate in the evening, NOT text and post about the evening. This same principle applies to iPods/iPads. (We are NOT responsible for these items and have nowhere to keep them safe).
