Liesel Urban

My name is Liesel Urban. This is my second year at Lutheran High School of San Antonio. My degree is from Colorado State University in Art Education. I’ve taught elementary art in the public schools for 10 years in Katy, TX and Lakewood, CO. I also have a year of K-8 art at Beautiful Savior Lutheran in Broomfield, CO.

St. Louis is my hometown. I’m a Lutheran North High School graduate. Having gone through the Lutheran school system growing up, coming back to be a part of that system has been truly wonderful. The faculty and staff at Lutheran High School are the best to work with. The focus on Christ as our Savior is seen and experienced in everything that goes on at the school and is not just part of the sign out front!

My husband, Steve, and I have been married for 10 years. We have four children – my stepdaughter is 20, two other daughters are 9 and 7, and our son is 3. We moved to San Antonio two years ago to be close to my parents and come back to Texas where we have both lived before and loved. Our family enjoys swimming, hiking, camping, and watching movies.

I’ve enjoyed the challenge of teaching students at the high school level as well as growing the art department and bringing out the God given talents that the students have been blessed with.
