Curriculum

The LHS curriculum builds productive, Christian citizens by preparing students spiritually, academically, physically and socially to enter college or the work force. Most students will carry eight classes. Lutheran High School’s academic program exceeds TEA standards. Students have the opportunity to choose regular courses, honors or advanced placement (AP) courses in most subjects. Lutheran High School uses a percent grading system.

In recent years, LHS has produced a National Merit Scholar, a National Hispanic Scholar, and a National Merit Commended Scholar. LHS students average 100 points higher on the Test of Achievement and Proficiency (TAP) than public school students nationwide.

Accreditation

Lutheran High School, a college preparatory Christian high school in the Lutheran education tradition, is supported by six congregations of the Lutheran Church Missouri Synod forming the Lutheran High School Association.

In 1999, LHS was granted regional and national accreditation through the Lutheran Schools Accreditation Commission which is recognized by the Commissioner of Education of the Texas Education Agency (TEA). Yearly accreditation evaluations enable LHS to maintain its excellent accreditation rating.  Lutheran High School once again received an "excellent" accreditation rating in June of 2007!

Approximately 60% of our seniors, who have taken the SAT, have scored above the 2007 national average of 1511.  In addition to scoring above the national average, the average test score of our students has increased by almost 100 points in the last two years.
